There was an issue on the virtual stock exchange account. When I placed the stop loss orders, it would execute the sale of the shares immediately instead of waiting until the price dropped to the stop order price.
The problem was that I was placing the orders by pasting in the values. It carried over a dollar sign and two extra spaces. I deleted the one at the end, but the dollar sign and beginning space were causing a problem.
Today, I manually placed the stop orders by typing in the price to execute on, and it worked fine. The orders are in a pending status (and hopefully prices won’t drop to cause them to trigger!)
